Valerie Cooper, M.Div. , Ph.D. - Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Virginia with a research focus on race, religion, and culture in the U.S. during the 19th and 20th centuries.  Author of  Word, Like Fire: Maria Stewart, the Bible and the Rights of African Americans (UVa Press).

Terryl L. Givens, Ph.D. -  Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  Author or co-author of numerous books on Mormonism, including: The Book of Mormon: A Very Short Introduction (Oxford University Press);  People of Paradox: A History of Mormon Culture (Oxford);  By the Hand of Mormon: The American Scripture that Launched a New World Religion (Oxford) and Parley P. Pratt: The Apostle Paul of Mormonism (Oxford).  Professor of Religion and Literature as well as the Bostwick Professor of English at the University of Richmond.

Matthew S. Hedstrom, Ph.D. - Historian specializing in the study of religion and culture in the U.S. in the 20th and late 19th century.    Assistant Professor of American Studies and Religious Studies, University of Virginia.  Author of the forthcoming new book The Rise of Liberal Religion: Book Culture and American Spirituality in the Twentieth Century (Oxford University Press).
