Physicist Giovanna Scarel

What is a photon?  Solid state physicist Dr. Giovanna Scarel explains photons and why such tiny things are intriguing.

The JMU scientist is organizing a conference on May 16th called “Science Enabled by Photon Sources: Local Research Interest in Virginia.”  She spoke with Martha about the conference, the stars, her romance with photons, and her successful quest for her own big idea.
