In Charlottesville to assist with the Look3 Festival of the Photograph, Alex Chadwick hangs out on a downtown porch chatting with WMRA's Martha Woodroof . Alex, a long-time NPR host and reporter, has also long been a photography lover. He's been quietly dropping in on the Look3 events for a while.
He's been a news host on almost every flagship NPR program and was the key reporter with the National Geographic Radio Expeditions series. He's now a radio independent producer.
He tells us about photography and also confides the sad personal back story of "The Descent," a recent whitewater expedition in his own life.
