New Way to Find New Stars

APOGEE (Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment)  gives scientists views of the universe never before seen. We meet APOGEE astronomers.  We talk with three of the Virginia scientists who have been instrumental in making this revolution in star gazing possible.  (This is an encore of a show from April of this year, so we won't be taking phone calls this time.)

Guests:
Steven Majewski, PhD - Lead Scientist for the Apache Point Observatory Galactic Evolution Experiment  (APOGEE)  project.  Professor of Astronomy, University of Virginia.

John Wilson, PhD - Design and Construction Team Leader for the APOGEE project.  Senior Scientist, Department of Astronomy, University of Virginia.

Gail Zasowski - Member, APOGEE research team, University of Virginia.

Tom Graham was Senior Producer and host of WMRA's Virginia Insight from 2006 to 2015.
