The Group That Used to Have 'Project' In Its Name

For more than 15 years they were known as the Virginia Organizing Project. Then they changed the name to just Virginia Organizing.

But there are still lots of projects.   Voting rights, healthcare, tax reform,  and immigration are just a few of the most current.

Guests:

Josh Diamond - Community organizer in the Harrisonburg region.  Program Coordinator for the Wayside Center for Popular Education.

Andrea Jackson - Community organizer in Augusta County. Coordinator for the Waynesboro Listening Project. Volunteer with Virginia Organizing.

Joe Szakos - Executive Director, Virginia Organizing. Co-author of We Make Change: Community Organizers Talk about What They Do - and Why (Vanderbilt University Press).

Tom Graham was Senior Producer and host of WMRA's Virginia Insight from 2006 to 2015.
