App Privacy Policy

Our iOS and Android apps require very few permissions:

• Our app checks to see whether your device is connected to a network (if it's not, the app won't try to play a stream.)
• The app reads the state of the phone - that is, whether you're making or receiving a phone call at any given time.  We do this so that we can automatically pause playback of the stream if you get a phone call.
• The app temporarily stores images that are distributed as part of our news stories.  By keeping a small cache of images on the phone, we avoid unnecessary use of your network bandwidth and of our server resources.

That's it.  We never share any of your information with third parties.  In fact, we never collect any information from the app, so we couldn't even be compelled to share that information.  And that's how we prefer it: we serve you, not advertisers, and we believe our privacy policy reflects and supports that.
