Perhaps you have heard of the tragedy of the boy soldier. A youngster dragged into third-world conflicts at the age of 7 or 8 and forced to fight.

Certainly no one holds him responsible for his actions.

But what about boys... AND girls... who go to war for a cause at the age of 16, 17, or 18?

Should international law consider them as children not responsible for their actions too?

The author of the new book Re-imagining Child Soldiers joins us to argue for changing some key ideas about youthful combatants.

The Day Before Virginia Votes

All of Virginia's state legislature... the "General Assembly"... is up for election on Tuesday, November 8.

All 100 House seats. All 40 seats in the State Senate.

In the Virginia Senate, Republicans need win only two more seats to take control, and thus total effective control of state government.

Two of the most contentious of the State Senate races are in the WMRA region.

We get a preview of Election Day from one Republican, one Democrat, and the Washington Post reporter who has been tracking the hottest races.
