A flock of crows roosted over the eaves of my grandfather's barn. If I hadn't known any better, I would have thought they were working in shifts; there always seemed to be five of them there, running their yellowed beaks through their oily feathers, cawing insistently.

Richmond, VA – Mr. Kannemeyer is a teacher and a poet, and the short short story genre appealed to him because of its crispness and its briskness... the snapshot momentariness of it.

Charlottesville, VA – With this week's G-O-P primary now decided, things are already warming up in what some say could become the hottest congressional race in the country this fall.

Southside Virginia state Senator Robert Hurt has been selected as the Republican standard bearer who will try to unseat Democratic incumbent Congressman Tom Perriello.

Harrisonburg, VA – Martha Woodroof moderated the 26th District Candidate Forum at VMRC Friday, May 28th.

Democrat Kai Degner and Independent Carolyn Frank were in attendance, Republican Tony Wilt did not attend.

Gift Clinic for Veterans

Charlottesville, VA – A group of acupuncture providers have been trying to give a gift of thanks.

They believe their methods can be especially helpful in reducing stress. And they say they want to show their appreciation to Virginians who have served in the military.

Yet the gift has not yet been received by anywhere near as many people as it was intended to reach.
