What Do You Do When a Police Officer Stops You?

You are traveling the highway. All of a sudden sirens are screaming and lights are flashing.  A trooper is directing you to pull over.

Or while walking down the sidewalk, you see a disturbance ahead.  Before you know it a police officer is demanding identification.

You want to be a good citizen... but just what does that mean?

We ask a defense attorney and a police chief for their response to the question, "What do you do when a cop stops you?"

NOTE: This is an encore presentation, originally broadcast on Thursday, February 7th, 2013.

Guests:
Scott Goodman, J.D.
- Charlottesville-based criminal defense attorney.

Timothy J. Longo, Sr., J.D. - Chief, City of Charlottesville Police Department. Consultant and training session leader for constitutional literacy seminars at numerous police departments across the country.
