They Call Themselves Ahyayha

The term Ahyayha is taken from the Cherokee, meaning "to hold in hand."

Ahyayha is also the name of a Virginia based organization betting that profits can be made from caring for mother nature.

We talk with two of the founders of this new environmental action group about the kind of projects they are looking to fund, and their unusual strategy for creating that funding.

Guests:
Michael Collins - Co-founder and Director of Corporate Development for the environmental micro-funding firm Ahyayha.

Barry Long - Co-founder and Director of Creative Technologies for the environmental micro-funding firm Ahyayha.

Additional Contributors:
Denman Zirkle - Executive Director,  Shenandoah Valley Battlefields Foundation.

Wayne Teel, PhD - Associate Professor of Integrated Science and Technology,  James Madison University.

Tom Graham was Senior Producer and host of WMRA's Virginia Insight from 2006 to 2015.
