Big City Graffiti Mural Under Harrisonburg

The street artist known in cities as "Bombproof" or just "BMBPRF" has Harrisonburg roots (EMHS Class of 2000) and in November of 2013, he returned to paint a tribute mural.   Apparently, the picture is in the Black's Run tunnel system. The image is a little edgy, a little funky, and a lot of: duck.

Why paint a big duck? "Like a duck in Harrisonburg, the mural doesn’t exist in a prominent or particularly pretty place," said OldSouthHigh.com's article about the mural, "but as a duck in Harrisonburg does, it now makes its non-prominent and non-pretty place a little bit brighter." The article also includes a time-lapse video showing the mural's creation.  The videographer was area arts-promoter Paul Somers, a past guest of WMRA's The Spark.
