After Jail, Women Struggle to Live

Women are a relatively small proportion of the incarcerated population in Virginia.  But that number is growing, and growing faster than the rate of male incarceration.Patricia Borns, an investigative reporter with Staunton’s News Leader, recently told the story of several women dealing with the transition to life after getting out of a local jail, why that’s different than an experience in the state’s prison system, and how a dedicated group called On the Wings of Angels Ministries is helping these women.  Bob Leweke talked with Patricia Borns, and with Sudana Wilmott, who is trying to make her life work after jail.
