Over the course of the last half-decade, James Madison University professor Kate Kessler trod every inch of the Appalachian Trail. Kate hiked the trail in sections on weekends and vacations, going out alone in all four seasons. She recently spent some time at the WMRA studios talking to Martha Woodroof about her experiences.
